Shelley grew up in Geneva, Ohio (yes, she is a Buckeye) and graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in Elementary Education. She married her high school sweetheart, Neil, and they moved to Verona, Wisconsin in 2000. Shelley went back to school and earned her Masters of Library Science from the University of Wisconsin.
Prior to joining Neckerman Insurance, she was a school librarian in Verona. She obtained her Wisconsin Property & Casualty insurance license in 2010 while managing a large horse training facility in Verona. Shelley joined our agency in January 2015 as a receptionist. Shelley has all the qualities you want as the “face of Neckerman”; she is outgoing, conscientious and shows great attention to detail in all of her work. In January 2017, Shelley transitioned to our life and bonds department. What she enjoys most about working at Neckerman is the sense of a family atmosphere and the high expectations Neckerman has to make sure that our customer’s most valuable assets are properly insured.
Shelley enjoys spending time with her family and riding horses when she’s not working. She and Neil have two children, Ashley who graduated from The University of Wisconsin and Matthew who is a golf course mechanic.
Something you may not know about Shelley? She grew up in a harness racing family that extended back to her Great Grandfather. In 2002, one of her horses won the Kentucky Derby of harness racing. That horse was named Trotter of the Year!
